Award-winning
producer, Gene Bortnick manages musical talent and produces live concerts,
television shows and large-scale musical events entertaining millions of people
around the world. A successful
entrepreneur since his early teens, Gene has always had the natural ability to
develop creative concepts and successfully turn any innovative idea into a
large, thriving enterprise. Always the
prolific businessman, Gene fell into the entertainment world by chance when his
young son Ethan, a true musical prodigy, was discovered on You Tube by the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”.
A performance on “Oprah” soon followed and almost overnight, Ethan was
being asked to perform at venues across the country. During this time, Gene and his wife had
another child who was born with a rare heart disorder. Wanting to help other children battling with
health issues, Ethan hosted and performed at a gala concert benefiting the
hospital that had been so instrumental in saving his brother’s life. This fundraising gala featured live
performances with Beyoncé, Gloria Gaynor and Smokey Robinson and raised a
record-setting $12-million for the hospital’s foundation. The success of this event opened Ethan’s eyes
to the power of music and inspired this young phenomenon to want to use his
extraordinary talents to help as many people as possible. Moved by Ethan’s passion and aware that
musical success was quickly approaching, Gene was motivated to protect his son’s
blossoming career. The family made a
decision to leave their current business and manage Ethan’s career, but more
importantly, they wanted to keep their strong family together.
As performance requests began pouring in for Ethan,
Gene’s successful entrepreneurial drive prompted him to start Sun and Sky
Entertainment. What began as a
grassroots family-run
